Red letter day March 30th

What a day in the Askeroth family. We found out that Isaac and Tiffany are having a baby girl. (Due in August)
This is especially great news because they have little Caleb, and Tiffany has a really hard time in the first 16 weeks of pregnancy. It was so exciting to see the ultrasound. I am amazed at how everything is so visible. Congratulations to Isaac, Tiffany, and Caleb. I already bought a cute pink dress for the new bundle of joy! Check out Isaac and Tiffany's blog (click on it from my links) to see the great 1st pictures of our sweet little girl. Her tiny feet are so cute!

Also March 30th

This is the 2nd great thing we found out about on March 30th! Kylee is engaged! It happened late Monday night. We are thrilled for her. She has found a very great guy. The thing is, we will have seven of our eight children married. How is that possible. We are not sure exactly when they all grew up. Congratulations to Kylee. We are so happy for you and Clinton, but Mom's head is swimming! This is the only picture I have of Kylee's fiance' and it is not to flattering of Ty. I am sure there will be lots more great pictures of all of them to come. They will be getting married June 13th in the St. George Temple.

contact lenses?

I went to the eye doctor on Thursday. I just wanted to be able to see clearly far away.
He put trial contact lenses in my eyes. Before I could see great up close and did not need reading glasses, but was always squinting to see things clearly far away. These are contacts that are worn 24 hours a day and I even sleep with them on.

The pros are:

I can see details in things far away, like never before.
I am not squinting!
Mostly never know they are there.
Don't have to take them in and out.

The cons are:

Need reading glasses for up close now.
When they get too dry, it burns and stings.
Sleeping in them overnight is ok, but in the morning there
is so much dryness, I can't get the solution in there fast enough.

I am not sure which way to go. I don't know if I am to old for contact lenses. But seeing far away is great. I would love your comments on the matter. Maybe there is someone out there that wears extended wear contacts with some ideas.

I am not sure which route to take.

Check it out!

Hey friends and family, check out my new
scrapbooking posts on "Something Special."
Just click on it in my Link list to see some
of my new pages. I finally got to that other
blog. I sure don't have the same amount of
time to scrapbook, as I used to. But here are
pages I have done in the last several months.

Note:There are 2 new posts to look at!

The great Zion National park

We stayed in Springdale, and even got in on a St. Patrick's Day
Celebration. (A bonus, since I am Irish)There was a little parade,
and even a bagpipe. Saturday it was sunny and beautiful and
Sunday it was cold and cloudy, but it was all great!

The waterfall is one
of my favorite pictures
of the trip. It is back at
the Temple of Siniwava.

Our niece Kiza was
married at the Temple of
Siniwava by a Justice of the
Peace in 2005, and that
was the last time we were here.

The bottom picture is of course
the Great White Throne.

This is where we stayed and
it blends in so well with the
surrounding area. We
recommend this place to all.

Weekend at Zion

Todd and I were able to steel away to Zion for the weekend. After the wedding and many church responsibilities for both of us, we just needed a couple of days of hiking and sightseeing in Zion, one of our favorite places on earth.
We had the most excellent day for hiking and found a great place where there weren't any other people, off the beaten path. We did quite the vertical climb without rock climbing per say and really were amazed at high high we got. In the bottom picture of this post, it shows the road down below where our car was parked. I love the pictures I took!

Paper Trail

Our sweet baby Evelyn is growing up. She just turned 10 months on Saturday.
Tara and Evelyn stayed with us last week for a few days before Daddy arrived
to welcome home his younger brother Taylor home from his mission. Evelyn's
favorite pastime at Grammy's house was pulling out all the paper scraps in her scrapbook room. I could not resist some pictures of Evelyn's paper trail!

We finally did lunch

Here is a picture
of my good friend Tracy Rodgers and I
having lunch together on
March 12 in Celebrations of
our birthdays, just 1 day apart
on February 12th and 13th.
We finally got together in March and it is something
we have talked about doing for years
We had a blast and I am sure we will make this
a tradition. Thanks Tracy, for such a great time.
You are the best!

The centerpiece

Here is a picture of the centerpieces at Jacob's reception. I did not get these posted, because the picasa I was posting from would not load it on. I seem to be having trouble loading pictures lately on this blog. Anyway, I am putting this picture on for anyone who might be interested. Note: These were clear vases with water colored with brown food coloring. The lacy squares were cut with my new cricut expression diecutting machine.

A few of the faces that were there

Scenes from the reception

I was sure that Jacob and Kelli's reception would not be well attended due to the fact that the highschools state championship game was being played in Las Vagas at the same time. I was wrong. There was plenty of people there and it was simple and elegant. It was not even hard to decorate for. Most definately the easiest one I have ever decorated for. More wedding pictures will be coming. More of the bride and groom together.

The building of a wedding cake!

I was calling this cake a "monet" because it looked so good if you stood away from it. As you got closer you could see the imperfections. I was sure it was'nt a very good job. I guess I am a perfectionist when it comes to certain things. Both my friends that helped me with the cake somewhat talked me into not doing it over. I am sure glad I didn't worry about every little imperfection, because it looked great at the reception and everyone thought so. Thanks to Audrey and Julie for giving me help and encouragement.
