Meeting Kinley

Nolan looks a little bit put out. He was of course, because he is 4 and has better things to do, but I am sure she will grow on him in time. When Grammy asked if he had seen the baby yet, (she was still in her carseat, he said, "I already saw that! Funny kid!
Breya on the other hand was totally enthralled and said this after I placed her in her arms, "I can't believe I have my own baby finally" and is the best helper ever! She is 8.
In the hospital in Daddy's arms, not to long after she was born. She looks content and a little bit swallowed up. She is a tiny little girl!
Mommy Elliah meeting her for the first time. What a moment this is for Mommies!
She looked so alert just a short time after she was born.

We gathered last Sunday for the blessing of Jacob and Kelli's baby little Liam. Pictured here are not Isaac and his kids, cause he had already left the dinner which was after the blessing. Tara and Trent were able to drive down from Provo, and it was held in Cedar City.
They bought a little onesie dress shirt, found this adorable little white paisley tie, and Grammy made his little linen pants.
Liam turns three months on March 14, 2011 and what a handsome 3 month old he is too!

Josh Marries Barbara

A happy and beautiful Couple. . . . .Josh and Barbara Askeroth
Josh and Barbara decided to get married on President's day. A monday morning is a different time to get married, but it needed to happen. Todd and I were not able to get there, due to work, sickness and the day they chose. But Kendra and Jacob and families were
able to attend. They were married by her Bishop, and it happened at the new big home that Josh has rented to accomodate the seven children they have between them.
She wore Kendra's wedding dress and Sterling took all of these wonderful pictures for them. I think they both looked beautiful this monday morning on President's day February 21, 2011. I am so happy for them, I am not even sad that I could not be there.
Cameron, Makayla, Carys, Afton and little Avery were the flower girls. Don't they all look so cute?
Yep, we have added 4 more grandkids in a hurry. Brycen is 10, Makayla is 7, Caden is 5 and Avery is 2. (hope I spelled their names correctly) We welcome all of them to the Askeroth clan.

Resort?

Here is out the back patio and terrace of where we stayed for my fabulous birthday weekend. The nights are really cool, so the fireplace and heaters are perfect. It got up in the high 70's when we were there.
Leslie and Ron Leaf, who are Todd's folks, are the best host and hostess ever. They are so much fun and really great people, and their place is like going to a beautiful resort on a golf course. This is what they get to see everyday!
February and they already have geraniums and pansies.
Here is the front of their place in Surprise, AZ We had such a good relaxing time there. We ate out on the terrace. It was lovely.

And darn I didn't take any pictures with my sister. On Saturday I drove over to my sister's place to spend the day with her. We went
out to lunch and had a day of 'thrifting' We hit many garage sales, goodwill and also went to the Brass Armadillo, which is a very large antique mall. We had a great time. We are just so sorry we didn't get any pictures together.

A perfect birthday

Some of what I received for my birthday. These two framed domed silhouettes, are vintage and kind of rare.
My birthday brunch just before we left for home. We had a wonderful quiche that my mother in law made for us, complete with a candle. It was yummy!
A most perfect Birthday celebration trip to Pheonix! Here are some pictures of where we stayed!

Wrapping up the month of Jan.

Making valentine cookies with Cam, Carys and Afton (aka Bubba) Grammy always has so much fun doing this with the grandkids. We were tired and did not get them frosted after they baked, so we just ate them like plain.
Spending the night a few times at Elliah's house with Nolan and Breya, since Jeremiah was in Costa Rica.
Movies I attended in Theatres. Not something I do very often. But I really wanted to see these too. 'Tangled' and the New 'Narnia' movie. I started to teach baton again. I have crafted away for swaps and such. And Josh had visited two weeks in a row. It was great to have him around.

All about Liam

Our newest little Grandbaby and newest Askeroth boy.
Here are some pictures of Liam Jacob Askeroth.
He has been around for six weeks today.
It is about time I posted some more pictures
of his baby hood so far. He is truly a wonderful
little baby and Kelli and Jacob couldn't be happier.
His first Jeans.
His Daddy says he loves to be cuddled and held.
That pacifier is almost covering his face, but this one is his favorite!
Does Jacob look proud or what?

Our New Year's Eve!

Not only was it New Year's eve, we also called it the 'Bon Voyage' party for Jeremiah as he was being taken to the airport shortly after this picture was taken, to go to Costa Rica for a month for the company he works for. We had a lot of fun with the grandkids and all the family we had around that New Year's Eve Day too!

They enjoyed the Santa Village and the magic smoke that comes out of the Gingerbread shop.
As you can see, Evelyn, Breya and Nolan all have the same eyes. They come from my side of the family. They look like siblings for sure!
Some of our party spread.
Happy New Year to all!

Christmas morning with Evelyn

Christmas morning at our house was so much fun thins year, because we had Evelyn and Lyla here. Santa Claus came and we Evelyn wanted to help everyone open their presents too! We had a huge Christmas Breakfast at the table and the rest of the day we just CHILLED! We watched 'Inception' and I just don't know how I feel about that movie. Was really weird!

Cristmas Eve away from Home!

Our Christmas Eve consisted of last minute shopping in St. George, visiting Todd's Aunt Jeanne and Dorothy Hortt in Kolob Care Center, then over to Elliah's house were we exchanged some gifts and ate a little lunch. Then we drove to Cedar City where we stopped in to see Jacob's new baby boy Liam, and then onto Isaac and Tiffany's house for dinner and time with grandkids Ella and Caleb. When Jacob and Kelli arrived at Isaac's house for dinner, he was wearing his darling little elf cap that his mommy made for him. (Jacob helped too, as he sewed the decorative buttons on it).The pajama elf come to their house after we watched the tabernacle choir and the birth of the Savior DVD. Ella and Caleb heard the doorbell ring and out on the porch were gifts of pajamas for them all to wear. We drove home and made it back about 9:45 p.m. just in time to fill stockings and wrap last minute gifts. It was certainly a Christmas Eve that we will always remember!

Beautiful baby boy!

Another picture of sweet little Liam Jacob Askeroth, he is just so beautiful, and sometimes we see Jacob in him and sometimes his mommy Kelli is also there. What a wonderful gift received by so many loving family members on both sides. We love you Liam! Christmas Eve 2010

Baby and Baptism!

Our little Breya turned eight on the 11th and got to have her own special baptism just days later because her father will be going to Costa Rica for 5 weeks on business. She looked so pretty in her dress that was made by Grammy, and these are two of her closest friends having cookies afterwards. The taller girl on her right is actually younger than Breya, but has tall parents and we all know where Breya comes from.
On the way to the baptism in St. George, we got a call from Jacob, that his new little son had just been born. It was quite a day on Tuesday December 14th. with two very special things happening in our family. Oh happy day!
His name is Liam Jacob Askeroth. Our 4th grandson, and second Askeroth male to carry on the name in our family for this new generation.
Here are the happy parents.
Isn't he adorable. He weighed 6 lbs 4 oz. and was 18 inches long. And all that dark hair. Wow!
He didn't have a name for sure until Wednesday afternoon, and we all were excited to hear what his unique name would be. I think we will keep him!!

Not quite ready but getting there.

I love getting ready for Christmas, but I am always jealous when anyone else says they are completely ready and done with everything by the eighteenth of December. I AM SURE NOT, BUT ENJOYING THE PROCESS. I guess that is the key, is to find the joy in not being ready yet!I still have to make a few gifts on the sewing machine, a couple of other crafts and do lots of baking and cake balls for neighbors gifts. I still have not done any Christmas greetings (cards) but they will probably be done after Christmas, so they can be New Years Greetings. Today, we are having a family dinner with Tara, Trent and girls, Kylee and Clinton and baby Maddox, Ty and Todd and I. I will be making turkey and fixins, cause I just didn't get enough of it during the Thanksgiving holiday.

Our Thanksgiving with good friends and family

Todd and I stayed at the Homestead in Midway, Utah. We all stayed in different places and the only family members not with us on Thanksgiving Day, were Isaac, Tiffany, Caleb, Ella and Cameron. We loved the winter wonderland so much, but were so glad to get back home to no snow and cold.
This was our little cottage we stayed in for 3 nights. We were not use to the cold outside, but this was surely cozy.
We spent our Thanksgiving with our good friends the Liddles. We go way back and used to get together for Thanksgiving, but we had stopped because our families have gotten so big. Since both couples had 8 children each, our families have grown to approx. 26 members each. We are just getting started though as most of the parents only have one or two kids. Between our two families, we have at present 21 grandchildren. Here are 11 of them. Some had already left who were present.
My best friend Linda Liddle. We have been friends for 30 years. I love this gal! As you can see, Linda is dressed a little more like she is use to the cold weather. It was so cold up there. I just had a hard time keeping warm.
We had our Thanksgiving dinner in a cultural hall at a church. can you believe how big this table is. We filled up over 40 chairs, and 15 family members added together were not present. I just kept being amazed at the amount of people that have come from our two families.

I don't think I have ever welcomed cold weather more.

It finally has come to stay in our Valley. Living in the desert, it takes a while, and this year it seems to have taken a bit longer. I think the over night lows tonight will be in the 30's. That is about as bad as it gets for us. I think once it got barely below 20 degrees in the 15 years I have lived here. It would snow here if it only would precipitate when it is cold enough. Those two thing don't happen very often in the desert. I love it.
