the family won't believe it, but. . . . .

Well it finally happened, just ask your father. I finally found a recipe for brownies that I can make. It happened on Saturday April 26, 2008. I decided I needed to make brownies, and you all know how dad has teased me over the years about my brownies. Well, I could not even seem to make them from a mix. I could do Texas sheet-cake type brownies, but they were more cake like with frosting. They would usually turn out, but if I ever wanted to make the chewy fudgie brownies they just never worked out. I finally did it though. They were very fudgie, chewy and rich. No frosting at all. I almost took a picture, but I thought that the blog would be enough. Just ask Dad and Ty if these brownies were not superb!

grocery bill isn't getting any lower!

Seems like every weekend we have family come home from somewhere in Utah, which has not let our grocery bill go down much at all. We go and buy lots before they get here and on Monday, we are all out again, because we send them home with stuff as well (college life). But rest assured all of my children out there, that we love having you come home and we don't mind at all that our grocery bill doesn't feel much lower. (it is probably the higher grocery prices as well) Please don't stop coming ever!
After the fair weekend, nearly everyone was home at one time or another, it was quiet, until this past weekend and Tara and Trent came to stay (last time before baby) and Josh and his family were here all day on Saturday. That is, we babysat with his 3 adorable girls, while mommy and daddy had some time to themselves. Here is some pictures from their visit on Saturday April 18.

Clark County Fair and Rodeo

Isaac was captured in this photo at the fair by one of Todd's patients. The guy emailed it to Todd and was he surprised when he opened the attachments and found our Isaac helping the parrot perform for a crowd at the monkey show. The Clark County Fair and Rodeo came and went this past weekend. I was the Midway Stage manager this year and I guess I will be doing this next year also. I enjoyed scheduling and interacting with the various performing groups. I am very happy to report that it was a success and glad that it is over. Spending four plus days was a little taxing. I was able to meet the dancing and singing group called the Honey Bear Dancers from Chicago, and interact with them a bit. I even did a little bit of missionary work there with the manager. They are truly all American girls with pretty high standards.
But the highlight of the entire fair was on Saturday when my kids arrived with their children. And I am posting some pictures from the fair and hopefully later on I will add some others as they come to me from the kids.

elan Woman magazine

In March something quite cool happened to me. I was called by Darci Hansen who is the editor of Elan Woman Magazine. She came to meet me personally at my home. What a gracious and beautiful woman she truly is. This all came about by me making a big scrapbook for my friend, Tracy Rodgers and her year's reign as Mrs. Nevada. Tracy gave her my name. I am so flattered that she would come here to my home. We had such a great visit and she took pictures of me in my creating place (scrapbook room). She was so complimentary to me and so positive and uplifting. I will be featured in the magazine in the fall. This magazine focuses on woman and all that they do, accomplish and stand for in such a positive way in such a very beautiful magazine. Thanks to Tracy and Darci.
