At sacrament meeting
on Sunday when we were
all together for Ella's blessing,
Nolan came to sit with Grammy
and PaPa. When all the guys went
up to take part in the blessing, Nolan
started rummaging through my purse
to look for gum. He always likes to
look in my purse for gum, and I let him.
I had just cleaned it out earlier in the
hotel room, so I knew I didn't have any
gum, and I just let him look for it to
keep him occupied. The blessing was over
and I picked up my purse just as he was
whispering to Kelli, "there is a spider in
there." We thought it was his cute little
imagination. Then it was time for the sa-
crament, so we got him to sit up on the
bench and fold his arms while the sacrament
was being passed. . . . . .
. . . . the Sacrament was almost over and he
got my purse off the floor and whispered to us
again, there is a spider in your purse. I thought
I wonder what it is, in my purse that looks like a spider to him? He started to one-by
one, taking everything out of my purse and putting them in my lap. I let him do it, because he was
doing it so quietly. We got everything out and just as I was about to show him there wasn't
any spider in there, I saw IT! He was absolutely right, there was a spider in there about
the size of a penny. I couldn't believe it. I could not imagine where I picked up the little
stow-a-way. I quick shut the purse and handed it to Todd and then handed him a tissue too.
Just as Todd was going after it with the tissue, Nolan leaned over to PaPa and said in
another whispered voice. "I told you there was a spider in there."
I am so happy for lighthearted moments like these that we will talk about in years to come
when we spend time with our oldest grandson Nolan. AND I AM HAPPY THERE IS NO
MORE SPIDERS IN MY PURSE!
