I have known this person, Linda Liddle for 30 years
now, and always considered her my best girl friend.
We only lived close to one another for about two years.
But we have had all our children together and since
we both had 8 kids at the same time, we have had so
much in common.
So many times we would call each
other on the phone from states away
and talk about our families, laughing
and sharing stories.
She has the most cheerful demeanor about her.
We were always going through the same
things at the same time. How many times
did we call each other up
and tell each other that we were pregnant
again. Linda Liddle has been such a big part of my
life. And our kids and husbands are good friends as well. We have had girls be roommates at school, and have shared at least 6 Thanksgivings together. Thankyou Best Friend. You are amazing!

and just after these pictures were snapped, it started
to pour, and get extremely cold and windy, so
we had to come down off the mountain.

The splendor of Fall

All of these pictures were taken in my hometown of Provo.
the fall colors couldn't have been more prominent at this time
down in town. These particularly meant a lot to me, since just
before all these were taken, was when I devastatingly deleted
all my other photos taken from this trip.

Here is the true meaning of Fall.
You can actually see the leaves blowing off the trees.

I always was told I was not photogenic, and I knew it to
be true. But after I saw these pictures, I knew that her Skills
were definitely needed where I was concerned.

We are all so proud.

Here is a picture I got off of Tiffany and Isaac's blog. We all could not be prouder. of our Isaac. Now he has 3 months of field training. Todd could not go up there with me for his graduation, because it was in the middle of the week and we are 6 hours from Salt Lake City. But he was there in spirit, and my brother Kevin came to see it all from Provo. Isaac's in-laws were there too.

Devastating moment!

I went to Salt Lake City this past week to see my son Isaac, graduate from the police academy. It was so neat. Isaac got two special awards, and was chosen by his class to give the class acceptance speech. Some of the Cedar City Police department officers were there to present to him his diploma. Now here is the devastating part. I accidentally erased all of the pictures I took from his graduation. Here are some pictures that I saved from his Mother-in-laws facebook page. Thanks to her I can have the memories saved too. Problem is that they are so small. They don't transfer regular size. Anyway, congratulations Son, you will be a great police officer for sure!

them into a bouquet in her right
hand. We wonder if she will stay
left handed. . . .

more dandelions next year in
the yards because Evelyn likes to
spread the seeds! oops

Fall Fiesta

Kylee and Clinton were
down visiting with for the weekend.
Kylee and I went after Tamales for dinner,
to the Catholic churches fall fiesta,
and just had to watch the performers
of the Ballet Folklorica. The kids are
especially entertaining and I feel like
I was culturally uplifted.
I love the big colorful skirts and the
way they braid the ribbons throughout
their hair.

Great new brownie recipe

I found this in the Sept. issue of
Better Homes and Gardens. I love
dark chocolate so much (and I can't
really eat regular or milk chocolate
without getting a head ache, so I really
try to avoid it completely. It is just too
sweet for me) and know that there are
benefits of eating Dark cocoa.
It contains flavoniods and some anti-
oxidants. It still needs to be eaten in
moderation, since there usually is fat and sugar
invoved in the chocolate that we consume.
There is a little secret ingredient to these
cinnamon brownies. That is Cayenne pepper,
which also has some real healthful properties.

Here is the recipe right out of the magazine.
I will definitely be using this recipe whenever I need a brownie
fix. Note: I thought that the using of the foil was unnescessary, but
tried it anyway and it works really great, and there isn't any dried
or crusty edges.

Triple Blessing in one year's time.

Kendra told us she was expecting about the
time Ella was born in August. She is holding
Ella on the day of her baby blessing, and she
will be due around the end of March. Kylee
found out she is going to have a baby too, and
she is due the first part of June. Kendra is
getting past the sickies, and Kylee is just be-
ginning! I am so thrilled for both of them, and
this will make numbers 9 and 10 grandchildren
for us. WOO HOO!

My Fall Centerpiece

I was sure in the mood to do a little fall decorating. I love fall so
much and I am so glad it is here. I will keep this here until Thanks-
giving, since I don't have any little kids around to do much Halloween.
Isn't it nice that we get two months of using a lot of the same fall
decorations. Then we are so happy to put it away and replace it with
Christmas Decorations. Yesterday I even made a big pot of beef stew,
and Todd asked me at dinner, if I made it because it was cloudy out-
side. I replied, "of course." It was just that kind of a day!

Learning early in life!

How many 3 year old kids do you know who can ride a bike without training wheels?
I had never known one until my grandson Nolan brought his bike along with him
to Grammy and Pa Pa's house to show us that he does just that! He isn't even 3 1/2 yet. A week before he told his Dad to take the training wheels off. Jeremiah was reluctant and knew he would be putting them right back on, however Nolan just got right on the bike and rode away! Elliah can't run after him fast enough to catch him. After watching him for a while, I got my bike out and rode down the street with him. He just looks to little to do this.

Finding beauty anywhere!

Logandale is not the prettiest place I have ever lived.
We moved here from a beautiful place called Pinetop Arizona,
which is situated in the White Mountains near Show Low.
I loved the change of seasons there so much and the ponderosas
smelled heavenly. I thought we would never leave that place.
In the winter we would ski and the summers were so cool at 7000
ft. in elevation. It was hard to leave. But after being here for
a while and going through the withdrawels of that life, I have come
to appreciate the beauty that is here. It really isn't pretty to some,
but we love it. We love the rural setting, and we are so glad to be
50 miles away from Las Vegas.
This morning I was badly in need of some adventure. So the dog
and I set out on my bike, and I decided to take along the camera. We
headed for the back roads, some of which are hardly what you would
call roads. But I have my mountain bike and am used to going over rocks
and bumps. Here are some of the sights we saw along the way. (Just
Toby and I)
1) The Muddy River, that runs right down the middle of Moapa Valley.
2) My street this morning with Toby waiting for me to come, and it looks like there is a hint of color change in the trees. I love this street.
3) This is one of those out of the way farms, tucked way back into the
fields of Logandale. I love the guy out working, and the mountains in the background!
