Mauri's wedding place

It was at the top of this
butte, where the ceremony
took place. Mauri looked
very pretty and was wearing
a brouch in her hair, that was
her great great grandmother's.
there were endless wheat fields
and natural grassland. Also this
part of the country, (northwest
Idaho) has clumps of pine trees
at the edges of the wheatfield's.
it is so sweeping!

Our nieces wedding celebration!

We are so happy for Marcus and Mauri
and little Miles. (What an adorable child)
They are really special people.
It was so much fun to see all
of Todd's sister Paige's family again,
and spend time with all of them.
Mauri Olson is Todd's niece, and lives in
Moscow, Idaho. Mauri and
Marcus were married
on August 22
on the top of a big grassy
Butte in Moscow, Idaho.
Latter in the afternoon, we all went out
to the Red Barn Farms, over in Washington,
for a wonderful
night of entertainment and good food
and great company.
It was unusual to see a marimba
band, playing music from Zimbabwe.
It was unusual to see older women
playing the music, but it was very entertaining.

Finding a Temple

On our last day of our trip, we had some time after
returning to Spokane before we had to be at the airport.
We decided the best way to spend the time was finding
and driving to the Spokane Temple. We had never seen
in real life, one of the smaller Temples. It does not matter
where you go, but if you are able to see a LDS Temple it
just does something special with your heart. There is such a
great feeling, and the spirit is truly there.

visiting Logan!

Kendra on the bridge over the Logan River.

Kendra and Sterling showed us all around
the USU campus and we even went to get
the famous Aggie Blue mint ice cream.

Me in the back of a canoe on Bear Lake. it was
sure nice there. The perfect Temperature.

Ty enjoyed swimming in the lake, as the water was so clean.
This lake is a natural lake, not man made, on the Utah, Idaho border, and my first visit here.

answers to the questions!

For any of you who did not know whose houses those were, in the earlier post, it is none other that the actual "Napoleon Dynamite's house and his friend Pedro's house" from the movie in Preston, Idaho. We also saw Summer Wheatley's house from the movie also. We had so much fun looking for these different places when we drove into Idaho, just for the sole purpose of finding scenes from the movie. We came home and watched the movie on Friday night. I have to say, that is the craziest movie that I really like to watch about once a year.

more stuff from trip to Utah

Ty, I think you are suppose to be feeding the ducks that bread!
A true gaggle of geese!
close up of their webbed feet.
We arrived at almost dusk. It was starting to get dark pretty fast. We still loved it.

More Happenings in Utah

I love this picture with Tara, she is so nice and pretty.
We always have fun together and Evelyn is growning up so much.

Getting smarter all the time. She loves the water. Stream, sprinklers, and even Seven peaks. She has
to be watched every second, because she will head right for the water and dive in if she was allowed.

Isaac, Tiffany and Caleb at the Draper Temple. Ty, Caleb, Me and Isaac. (I love these boys so much) This picture was taken at the
Oquirrh Mountain Temple the same evening, and they are so close together , you can see one when you are standing on the grounds of the other one. They are both absolutely beautiful.

I've been sewing!

Wanted to make some dresses for the two youngest granddaughters.
I had so much fun sewing again. When my girls were little,
I made every dress they ever wore.
I took some pictures of Evelyn in hers before we headed out to church, Sunday August 3. That night I gave the other one to Tiffany for baby Ella to wear, after she makes her appearance. We really can't wait. These dresses were the same pattern, but I did not make them exactly the same. Sewing is another creative outlet for me. It is so great that I have almost 6 granddaughters to still sew for when I am in the mood to sew.

Here is my list of what I can remember that we saw.
Elk

bald eagles
Wallabes

albino porcupine
geese
canadian geese
ducks of all kinds
a big rat
many mice
pheasants
coyotes
bobcats
pigs
sheep
cows
deer
chickens
many different birds
from many different countries

Do you recognize these houses?

I thought it would be fun to show these homes, and see if any of you family or friends out there might
know where these homes are and what they are from. It will be fun to see
who gets it right first. Try to name who's houses they are.

Early Morning hike!

Our early morning hike was really fun. We took the dog with us, meaning Ty, Myself, Jacob and Kelli. Walking along the top, see the green valley below. This is our destination. . .to the top Mohawk mountain. We have done this hike many times, and when we get on the actual trail, we find markers from Isaac, Jacob and Ty from years ago. Toby went along and when I sat on the edge of the peak, Toby was wiggin out and was trying to get me from the edge. I kept telling the kids to call him back so I could get up. I'm so glad he likes me and wants to protect me so much, but I was afraid he was going to fall off!

The Narrows passageway

We found a very narrow canyon on the way back from Mohawk Mountain. I am sure it was the nearest one to that Mesa. I wanted Kelli to experience one of these canyons, as it is one of many that exist behind our home in Logandale. We found many owl pellets deep into the passageway, which is like a big labyrinth and a big adventure, because you don't know what lies ahead. Sometimes you have to climb down some big rocks and sometimes you
almost feel like you are in a cave.

New Layouts

The reason for posting these here on this blog is simple. From Picasa they automatically went into my personal blog instead of my creative 'something special blog.' I will put them in there as well and even some more. After the wedding I have had a chance, on some of those really hot and you are stuck inside all day times, or opportunity to catch up on layouts that I already started or layouts I was working on for the Memory Makers Magazine Masters contest, which will not be happening now because the Magazine is shutting down. This is Magazine which I was published with, so I am kind of sad about it. "Paradise Life". . . was done for the 'My life is' layout that the contest was asking for,
I would not have done this layout for myself, but I guess it is a little bit like letting my posterity know more about me.
This one is called "Carys and the Talent Sprouts" her performance recital with her pre-school
her personality is just to cute and these pictures describe it perfectly.
"Afton and the Labyrinth" This picture and the two following on the next layout are to me really
great from my daughter in law, Courtney Askeroth She does a very good job with this affect.

"It's a big big big world out there"
I love scrapbooking and always will!

New on Something Special

Hey, I have just posted more stuff or pages, on my creative blog "Something Special" Click on it from my link list below. I wanted to enter the Memory Maker's Master's contest but just as I had completed all assignments I went to the online forum and found out that the magazine is shutting down, after the Sept./Oct. issue. So there will not be any magazine in which to announce to have a National contest. I just felt like I wanted them online somewhere. Thank heaven's for the blogging world. Some of these layouts are some that I would have entered. Remember to Click on 'Something Special'

Life after weddings!

What have I been doing since the weddings have been done and over with.

1. Staying in Logandale! With a couple of exceptions!
2. Morning bike rides. (love this so much)
3. Designing more sets for Storytellers Club.
4. Painting rooms after the flood, getting ready for baseboards.
5. Picking out new carpet for the basement.
6. Catching up on unfinished scrapbooking.
7. Taught myself how to fix bike flats.
8. Planned our trip up to Washington, Montana and Idaho!
Hold on. It is the panhandle area of Idaho so Washington
and Montana are all within 70 miles or so.
9. Speaking in Church about the Pioneers.
10. RELAXING!
