This is the month of Michele being gone-gone-gone. The first of the month, I attended the bi-annual scrapbooking retreat with friends from Boulder City, Las Vegas, and Woodland, Utah
in Fairview, Utah. It is lovely there. Used to be held in Pine Valley, UT but due to the fact that
Kimmy Peterson and her husband built a beautiful home in Fairview, we all went there. We had
a blast as usual. Their new home is great and we all had our own rooms. I am so lucky to be able to be counted among these wonderful women. All are great examples and inspiring to me.
I have been meeting with these great women for 11 years now.
As the retreat was winding down, I decided to visit Trent and Tara because I had some things to bring to them. We were hoping that Tara would go into labor while I was in Provo (just 45 minutes away from Fairview). She certainly looked as though she would, because Dr. said she was ready. We did alot of walking around the hills behind BYU to get things started. Babies however come when they want to, or maybe not! ( some have to be helped to get here) I decided to head home and when I got to Cedar City, I was very tired, so decided to stop and see Isaac, Tiffany and Caleb. Just after arriving, Tara called and said she was feeling very different, so I stayed the night at Isaac's. In the morning, Tara called and said she was going to phone the hospital, and they told her to come in. I headed back, needless to say and it was a false alarm. (Let me make this one perfectly clear. I wanted to witness the birth of a granddaughter!) I stayed until Saturday, and drove home to Logandale, was there for a week. You would have thought Tara would have done something in that week. Her body was telling her and everyone else, (including Dr. and Nurses) she would go into full and active labor at any minute.
Todd told me on Friday May 16, that I should just go to Cedar City and stay with Isaac just to be
that much closer to Provo. I left Friday night and had a wonderful dinner with Isaac and Tiffany and had so much fun playing with grandson Caleb. At 4:30 a.m. Tara called me and said she was having painful contractions and pain in her back. Trent took her back to the hospital and I rushed out the door to make it to witness the birth. Trent called just as I was getting close and said they were sending them home to get contractions really going again. They said she was in early labor, but not active labor. We thought we just needed to do a few things to get her really going. Making the long story shorter. She did not have her baby until Wed. May 21 and was induced. I did not get to witness her birth after all of that, because Tara had to have a c-section due to the fact her pelvis was to small. Thankfully all is well and baby Evelyn arrived safely and boy is she really healthy. Tara has had a bit of a hard time with the C-section but all is well. I will be posting pictures of her very soon. It is Wed. May 28 and I am still in Provo helping new mommy recover and learn how to handle everything from major poopy blowouts, to dealing with engorgement. We have had so much fun together. I will cherish this time with Tara and her first baby forever!
