Wedding cake

Here are pictures of the cake up in Springville, and at the Nevada reception. I am excited that I was able to do Kendra's wedding cake. This was my first wedding cake. Well I cheated a bit, as the cake is actually Styrofoam, so no baking was involved. I have decorated birthday cakes and others in the traditional manner, but never worked with fondant. When you do fondant it really works well to do it over Styrofoam, especially since I was having to transport it to Provo for Kendra's 1st reception. About 1 week before her wedding, my good friend Audree Lytle
came over. She is an expert and showed me how to do it, but really let me be the one to actually put it together. (I could not have done it without her) The decorating part was really fun and now I can do it again, because I know how! I realized that it is so much work though, and I now know why people charge a lot of money for wedding cakes. I loved doing it and I am so glad to have learned something new. I also did the silk flowers for the centerpieces, Nevada reception and the cake.

the whole family plus two

This picture was taken on October 13, after Kendra and Sterling's sealing in the Salt Lake Temple. It was even hard for us to get everyone in the picture then. Tara was the photographer, with her husband Trent assisting, so someone else had to take over the camera for this shot. Maybe it is because we are already up to almost 22 in numbers that it is just so hard to get a family picture, with everyone in it. My sister and her daughter are up in the corner in this one. We just might have to settle for smaller group shots of individual families. If anyone is interested, visit Tara's online gallery at: tewa22.smugmug.com to see her beautiful photography skills.

One left at home!

Todd and I talk about it almost everyday. How did we arrive at this point in our lives. Our children are all grown up. Even Ty is looking down at me and looks like he will be the tallest
son in our family when it is all said and done. It is too quiet around here, with only Ty living at home. So we love it when the older kids come home on weekdends or for get-togethers. Ty really loves it when his siblings come home. Sometimes I am sure he thinks it is a little hard to communicate with the "folks" (maybe a little generation gap there) But we love our number eight. We sure don't know what we would do without him.

Our new little one coming in May

Tara and Trent found out that they are having a baby girl due in May. This was a surprise to
everyone, because we all (from both families) and friends thought they would definately have a baby boy. We are all thrilled though and can't wait to welcome her to the world. We are sure enjoying watching Tara's belly grow bigger.

Our Kylee

Wow this picture of Kylee hurts my back, but shows us her flexibility. She is indeed a beautiful dancer. She amazes us at her many talents. Dance, tumbling, art, guitar and singing.
Kylee Michele Askeroth tried out for the dance team at SUU and made it in April, graduated from High school in June, left for Cedar City in August and started dancing. Works at the University and decided not to go to school a second semester. Got hired to choreograph and teach the dance team at MVHS their competition dance routine. Love you Kylee, you are so sweet and nice to all.

Tara And Trent Leavitt married Sept. 16 2006 in the St. George Temple
and Kendra and Sterling at the Salt Lake Temple married October 13, 2007

Tara and Trent had a beautiful wedding on a perfect day. It couldn't have been nicer.
With Tara waiting for Trent while he served his mission, this was especially
a wonderful day. They had waited so long.

Kendra and Sterling's big day had some weather involved, but we were lucky that it
cooperated for picture taking.

the big events of this past 5 months (07)

We welcomed home Jacob in August, from the Argentina Buenos Aires North mission. The day finally arrived. We were able to pick him up at the St. George Utah Airport, which was so nice compared to the
hustle and bustle of Las Vegas, and you know what else!

Here is a few wedding pictures from Kendra and Sterling's big day on October 13, 2007 and
then the reception the next weekend in Logandale.

Wedding day was wonderful. It was raining when we went into the Temple and we were hopeful that it would stop afterwards for pictures and video. It did turn out all right. The wedding luncheon was held at the Provo City Library 3rd floor Bullock room and the Bride and groom were quite late due to the fact they stopped at a Deseret Industries to get a bike helmut. (Crazy kids) The program for the luncheon consisted of 1 minutes stories from every family member from both sides, after which a small gift was given. This was so fun and we wished we had done it at everyone's luncheon. The reception at the Springville Museum of Art was so lovely and had a good turnout. What a beautiful place that is with so much history. Sterling's younger sister played the harp throughout the reception, which made the atmosphere really something.

The next weekend for the reception here in Logandale was very interesting. All day long as we were setting up the reception in the Pulsipher's backyard it was gorgeous. But right before the
reception started, the most obscene wind came up, destroying the center pieces and blowing sand everywhere. It was ol in spite of the wind but we will never forget it.

Holiday Happenings

These Holidays were filled with much pain, suffering and unbelievable JOY. By that I mean that I, Michele, being a do-it-your-self person, wanted to make the magnet boards that she gave to all the married couples in the family, which meant that I spent much time on the floor pounding away at the tin stretched over the wood frames. Then I spent many hours on my hands and knees cleaning a friends home after they remodeled. My back was already tweeked, and this just was the straw that well you know. Thank goodness I have had a wonderful Chiropractor around everyday to help me get through this slipped disc. Everyone this holiday season will remember me as the slithering crawling one. And thanks to all of you for being so helpful when you were visiting.
On Christmas Eve, we had all of the children here for dinner and a program accept for Josh and
Courtney and their 3 children. Kendra and Sterling returned from their belated honeymoon, and presented us with a wonderful video tribute to us as parents. They had interviewed everyone in the family. (spent many many hours putting this together) What a great Christmas present. If that was not enough, Elliah gave to everyone individually these cute little booklets with some of her journal entries over the years that pertained to that particular person to all of us. Way to go Elliah, you spent so much time on this and we loved it. I was sad because I did not get to see Cameron, Carys, and Afton (Josh and Courtney too.) Then they called and asked if they could come and boy were we excited. We had so much fun with the little girls. This picture was not that easy to get, but we did it. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL! Grammy and Pa Pa were so happy to see them all.
